Probably about two years later than the rest of the world, I have discovered Couleur Locale – a fantastically global-inspired concept store – when I recently visited Knokke-Heist, an upmarket, super-stylish coastal town on the northern Belgian coast.
In between tipping sand from my shoes, admiring the sophisticated grey-orange colour palette of the beach huts, and letting the ocean breeze style my hair in an interesting fashion, I took a long look through the store and found literally oodles of interior inspiration derived from world travel. Right up my street.
Couleur Locale has two stores in Belgium (Knokke-Heist and Antwerp), as well as an online shop which offers reasonably priced online delivery for those of you not currently lucky enough to live here.
The brand’s aim is to “bring the world into your home“, which is exactly what I’m hoping to do through this blog. As such, I felt truly at home and imagine myself doing some further serious shopping here over the years. Oh yes, and the best thing? Apart from the wide range of gorgeous homewares, there is something here for every budget. Talk about the icing on the cake!
So, what, I hear you ask, does Couleur Locale have to offer? I guess the answer to that is going to be different for everyone which is ultimately what will make our interiors so unique, but I’m going to share with you the top 5 items that are on my wish-list below.
This giant owl mural on magnetic wallpaper. What a great way to organise your thoughts and ideas whilst completely personalising your home office!? There is a bear, rabbit, cat and other animals to choose from too. Love.
Any of these 100% alpaca wool throws from Peru. If alpaca wool as is soft, warm, waterproof and self-cleaning as described, then this is the throw for me.
These ceramic pendant lights in white. Heck, I like them in black too, but they are sold out! What’s a girl to do!?
I hope you love Couleur Locale as much as I do. I mean who wouldn’t want to fill their home with “things that make you smile and take you to another place“? Well, when you put it like that….
Are there other interiors stores in Belgium that I should make a point of featuring? I have a few more posts on the way highlighting the best interior shopping options that I’ve discovered since living here, but am always on the look-out for more!
Happy travels and shopping,
